Give you love – By Kavya M and Ianne D.
“Give you Love” is a fun 2D platform runner game where the player has half a heart, and she navigates through the game using arrows, collecting hearts, to reunite with her other half of her heart at the end of the game. My role in this game was: Producer and the Programmer. My responsibilities included importing the assets, then writing the code, creating the transitions, testing builds, making the animations in the game, adding sounds and building the exe files for testing purposes.
Game credits: For the assets of the game, they were built by our designer – Ianne. The music in the game was imported from the asset store in Unity. It was called – Casual Jingles.
Issues and Instructions: Currently in the game the known issue would be that the player keeps gliding off the platform. The controls to play the game: Arrow keys to move around, and spacebar to jump, esc to exit the game.
The current game model: This current game consists of a player cruising about the city to collect hearts, and not die, to find the person that would be “the other half”. Moving on, I would maybe try in improve the game in my free time, even though I am not doing a game in the final project. We ended up making some changes after our play-tests based on the inputs of our testers. Some of the changes we made since the last blog post – we removed the glitch where the player was able to climb up even if she falls and dies, we added some challenges like moving platforms and jumping tiles. And the last thing, but most important, we added a command for quitting rather than force quit. So that’s all the changes for now.
